In the mean time, you should back up your old computer at home, or plan to apply some of your trade-in credit towards having us transfer the data onto the new computer for you. Make sure to check your backup carefully because your old computer will be securely erased after you trade it in.
Bring your old computer into Mactivate (click here to find our location) with as many of its original accessories as possible: original box, power cord, original software installation disks, keyboard, mouse, etc. You and your computer must come into Mactivate, we do not accept trade-ins by mail. Our staff will have the computer tested and give you a final trade-in offer based on the computer's condition and accessories included. If you accept the offer, you'll leave with a new computer. If you'd like us to transfer your data from the old computer onto the new computer, the process takes about 24 hours.

We'd prefer your Mac to be working and be in good physical condition to be eligible for a trade-in credit If there are undisclosed issues with the hardware we will offer you an adjusted price based on this information and you are under no obligation to continue with the trade-in.
